About MATEC and AETCs

AETC Regional Training Centers

MATEC-IN is the Indiana Local Performance Site within the Midwest region of the AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETCs). The Midwest region, commonly referred to as the Midwest AIDS Training + Education Center (MATEC), is a member of this national  network of eight regional and three national centers, covering all 50 states as well as US Territories and Jurisdictions. Funding is provided by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau through the Ryan White Program, Part F. The regional headquarters for MATEC is based at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, Department of Family Medicine. MATEC provides HIV training and support services through local sites in 10 Midwestern states including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin. Each site is charged with developing services to meet the needs of health care professionals in their area.
